Nice look and expression, only criticism I would give is that the eyes don't really seem lined up correctly with the angle that his face is at.

The thing with the show, well. I can't say anything. But taken as it's own entity apart from the books—which it is, via Jim, it did a very decent job.

But I love this look for Harry. :)

Love all your Dresden art! You're bringing some awesome to the fandom. I so need to get to work on my envisioned fan art... But it's a spoiler ;D Love love love Dresden Files. I did enjoy the show though. Wish it could have been more like the books. Maybe they'll try it again some day.

dont tell me that its going to make me want to do more, flattery gets you every with me, oh im all caught up with the books now i everything there is to know will at this point :) so no once can spoil anything

i cant help not liking the show, im a bit of a nit picker and i can let things go if they makes sense or small like Murphy not blond, who cares, harry inheriting a bracket instead of necklace make no sense

I did, however, like the actor they chose, he somewhat fits the part. The show, I don't really think of as the same thing as the books at all, more like a rough interpretation and then went on a tangent. I can't remember, did it even have Thomas??? I want more, because I just want more more more Dresden! I think Jim butcher is a friggin' genius! XD I think they should make a less PG version of the show. Need cussing, sex and VIOLENCE! Hell's bells, what's Harry without getting his ass handed to him then all hell breaking loose?! hahaha. Though I did like Bob a lot. I guess they thought it would look kooky Harry talking to some glowing orange eyes in a skull all the time, so they got a guy instead. He really was quite entertaining. So I forgive the liberty they took.

But yes, it bothered me that Murphy was too tall and too brunette. And I thought she should have been more cute than pretty. And how did Morgan suddenly become black? Oh wait, because you can't have a story sans a black person or you're not being very PC. I'm glad they didn't really change his personality though.

It's been a while since I watched the show. I know there's so many other things wrong with it. I don't even remember, did they say his shield bracelet was from his Mom? Maybe they thought a pentacle would be too satanic for TV. They could've turned it into a peace sign and said his Mom was a hippy... lols!

I think I'm overdue to read the books again.

(draw moar, I will flatter you!)

Okay my biggest problem was Harry was getting Laid way to much in the Tv show. its kinda a big plot point that he doesn't get around much, well Thomas doesnt come up till book three and doesn't make it to main character till book six so he didn't need to be in the show for a while,i can over look bob with body that was a small tweak that is understandable probably cheaper to do then making an effect all the time, also Morgan being black is fine , dont get me wrong i think i laughed for twenty minutes straight when i saw it but as long as some one can pull off the role convincingly i dont care if they need to change a race so its not all cast of all white. but if some one is supposed to be of Latino descent like Susan and they are made white i have a problem there. change a race to make beacuse you have a actor who really fits the role isnt a big deal to me, but changing race

as for the pentacle its a show about witch craft and constantly in the books they say it has nothing to do with religion, and Shows with magic are not going to be drawing in any one who is anit-magic/magic is devil work, for the most part shows like this the people that watch usually know basic things like a pentacle is just a symbol used. there are thousand others less famous some one could have looked up and harry could have used instead. the shield bracelet bugged me cause almost every new book he has to replace it cause its used up, it just not paying attention to the books

another thing that really bugged me was the drumstick for a blasting rod and a hockey stick for a wizard's staff it would have been okay if for instance harry was ambushed and maybe once grabbed those things if he was cut off from his real stuff since harry's staff is just a tool. but to have that as his main things sucked

i really don't understand why they went with a monster of the week kind of show. staying close to your source material can only do you good, look at true blood and Dexter they stayed close at first then went wild latter and people love the shows

Yay, I love talking about my geekdoms with somebody! :giggle: It didn't really bother me they changed Morgan's race, it bothers me that society says they need to. And the Susan part (I must've forgotten that) they probably were going against interracial relationships, big booo on them for that! I think it's kind of a double standard to change a race to be pc, then to change another character's race to avoid racial controversy...

Yes the hockey and drumstick were lame, it was amusing as a substitute if he couldn't get the real thing, I could totally see him doing that.

Yeah, they should have stuck to a singular plotline. But you know, the books almost have a monster a minute XD Basically, every scene. I love the pace of the books. You're racing, against time and you're really running from one wild hair raising event to another, yet it's all so easy to digest in short chapters and such. Jim Butcher really is a talented writer to achieve that.

See, if a big station like HBO or Showtime had taken the show up, it might have been a continuous story line. Or even on ABC, since they've got "V" going. But I really would want to see a racy version of Dresden. Oh well. Maybe some day Butcher will cut a movie deal and make some epic runnin film that will have a mad cult following of the parents of Potter fans....

i just think they skimmed over the books and thought things like race didn't matter, just as long as they cast them quickly and cheaply i admit when i first read the books until it was spelled out that she was Latin, i pictured her as a tan red head (dont ask me why...i dont know)

yeah it makes scene as a quick substitute cause harry is forever going on and on that they are just tools to help him. and that would bring a laugh for the fans

one of things they could/should have done if they didn't have a big budget wasn't was cut the season in half make 13 eps instead of 20 something and make better eps with more money. to be honest i could have lived with a harry monster of the week show if it was done with a real effort. problem is they didn't put that effort in, i love monster of the week shows, but harry's didn't work because they put as little money into it as possible and it shows for instant Supernatural managed in its first season (which probably had the worst budget) to do scary by just having things dark most of the time, and from what i remember of harry's show was that it was light and bright and that doesn't spell doom and gloom like it should

i think the tv has killed that for the time being, if it gets picked up again my guess its going to be at the end of book 20 maybe before the end trilogy

Maybe we diehard Dresden fans just need to petition the execs to do another show for us, but do it right. You can't do a fan show from a book series and not keep it true to the book. Only pisses off the fans and confuses newcomers. To them it was just another Buffy show without any hot chicks...

....i dont think one would go over for a few years i think its still might be have the rights licensed to Scifi(--im not calling it the new name) if you make something you get like 5 to 10 years with it i think...maybe not ten but a while

right if you are banking on the name you have to keep it close to the source stuff for a bit beacuse at first all you will have is the fans of the books at first

they could have gone the other way if they couldn't use super hot chicks they used super hot guys and had a fan base of 12-40 year olds ;D

I agree the show doesn't do justice to the books, they changed everything to much. And the shadowing on his face, combined with his expression gives just a hint of that darkness Harry is always fighting that is inside him. Coat don't look right by the way, it is supposed to be mantled, mentioned unlike the hats that is always showing up on the covers of the books.

i think the hockey stick, and giving bob a body, they made Justin his uncle instead of adopted dad, completely getting rid of his necklace pentagram and the fact that harry was getting it on in a regular bases with different woman, to me it missed the spirit of the books

Yeap, Harry isn't laid constantly, and Bob is supposed to be a perverted spirit in a skull (cloud when not), not some sophisticated british guy. And Justin was never revived. And don't forget they replaced his blasting rod with a drum stick.

yes in fact that is a point in the books that he need to get some more.

i get you have to make changes to adapt to screen but they went crazy, it really felt that they just wanted to do a cheep scifi show that wouldn't bring any one in unless they took the name of something popular
